Well, I did it. I bought a van. 🙂
Meet Viva the Van. She’s a 2000 GMC Safari, with just over 100,000 miles… a little old, but certainly not past her prime. I bought her from a lovely Australian couple who took her on her maiden voyage around the states as a camper van.
She came pre-equipped a relatively simple build. The bed frame is made out 2x4s, with plenty of room for storage underneath. I added a Yeti cooler (cooking is a must), a memory foam mattress topper (girl’s gotta sleep well), and a brand spankin’ new stereo system (TUNES!).
I think I’ll probably stick with this build over the summer, then clean her out and start fresh with a new build this winter. This guy and this guy inspire me.
I’ll be living, working, and playing from the road all summer. Tentative route is Los Angeles to Vancouver (where I’m leading a training in August).
I plan to use this blog to share my (mis)adventures on the road, as well as pass on tips for other working professionals considering the nomadic life. Thanks for joining me!
